Marriner Group is a dynamic Australian owned company, managing five world class venues including; the Princess Theatre, Regent Theatre and Comedy Theatre, Forum Melbourne and the Plaza Ballroom.  All venues are based in Melbourne’s CBD and play host to some of the world’s biggest productions and events.

Due to continued growth at Marriner Group, our maintenance team have an opportunity for a full time Trade Assistant role, working across all our iconic Melbourne CBD venues.  You will work under the guidance and mentorship of our experienced maintenance team members and Director of Facilities and Projects.

About the Job

  • Basic handyperson tasks for repairs and maintenance.
  • Escorting contractors through venues.
  • Assisting tradespeople as required.
  • Physical labour tasks. 
  • Roof and gutter cleaning.
  • Graffiti removal.

About You

  • Experience is not necessary however a keen interest in basic maintenance skills is expected.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday from 7:30am in the CBD.
  • OHS Occupational Safety and Health (OS&H) Responsibilities 
    • Comply with all Statutory requirements. 
    • Take reasonable care to ensure their own safety and health whilst at work and that of   others. 
    • Consult and cooperate with Management on matters of Occupational Safety and Health. 
    • Report all hazards, accidents, incidents and near misses according to the Accident/Incident Reporting process. 
    • Develop and follow all safe work procedures as directed by the supervisor or as otherwise directed. 
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Work as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ensure a safety-first approach is critical and as such your workspace is always clean and organised.
  • You can follow and complete paperwork and have knowledge of quality systems and controls.
  • You are focussed and complete tasks assigned in a safe, efficient and independent manner.
  • You are skilled in the use of hand and power tools and like to problem solve.
  • You are a team player with a can-do attitude with the ability to listen, learn and follow directions.
  • You are reliable, punctual and take pride in your team's achievements.
